Lance Marwood writes horror fiction that lives in the spaces between myth and memory, where generational wounds take physical shape and the past refuses to stay buried. His debut novel, The Cherale, was published through V13 Press in 2025.
As a journalist at V13 Media since 2015, Lance has published over 300 articles and conducted more than 50 interviews across the worlds of heavy music, horror, and independent art. He currently serves as Director of Communications and hosts the MAKE // BREAK podcast, a weekly show about the creative process and the people who refuse to let the world talk them out of making things.
His weekly newsletter, Lowkey Hellish, explores the intersections of horror, culture, myth, and what it means to build a creative life against the grain. Lance lives in Ontario, Canada, where he continues to write fiction rooted in landscape, inheritance, and dread.
When he is not writing, Lance can be found exploring abandoned places, collecting folklore, or thinking too hard about what scares people and why. His work draws on the rural gothic tradition and the quiet horror of things left unsaid between generations.
