Updated October 2026

What I’m focused on right now, the way I’d tell a friend I haven’t seen in a year. New months get added at the top; old ones stay.

October 2026

  • First time I get to update one of these, which is super cool. I fell in love with this concept when I first spotted it while I was researching my fellow panelists.
  • My first ever book panel I’m speaking on is Can*Con, which will also be the first time I’ve ever attended it as well: “Toxic Writing Relationships,” Friday, October 16, Ottawa.
  • The first book I ever agreed to edit and publish for someone else is officially out Oct 1st: Wild to Wise. Only took about 18 months, but hey, that’s show book biz, baby. I’m so stoked for Geraldine Carriere, she’s worked her absolute ass off for this.
  • We are buying our first home. Something I thought would only happen about a bajillion years from now, but turns out the 20 years of working toward that paid off (and now get to pay that off for the next 30).
  • I am working more and more on Darcy D’s upcoming memoir, Theory of Kaos, about his time in the touring circuit in the 80s playing with the band Simon Kaos. We’re trying to get it all ready for Black Friday, so of course I agreed to that, because I’m a glutton for punishment and it’s not like I already have a million things going on.
  • I made a “song,” part of a dark ambient project I plan to eventually get off the ground, back in July. I’m hoping I get to eventually start working on that more and more in the month ahead as part of this course I’m developing called Foundations, which is for musicians to ensure they have absolutely everything in place on the business and marketing side so they don’t ever miss anything (or get fucked by this increasingly morally bankrupt industry).
  • My book stack right now looks like Settler-Colonial Sovereignty: Visions of Improvement and Indigenous Erasure by my friend and neighbour Liam Midzain-Gobin and The Reverse Centaur’s Guide to Life After AI by Cory Doctorow on my bedside table, and Intercepts by T.J. Payne on audiobook.
  • Still listening to Nails, Full of Hell, IDLES, Bad Nerves and Gibran Alcocer on repeat.
  • Finished Breath of the Wild with my son: got all 120 shrines, the ancient motorcycle, beat Calamity Ganon, etc. etc. Started Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s so funny watching our minds melting over how different this game is.

September 2026

  • Landed my first panel appearance at a book event ever. I’m going to be talking on the panel about “Toxic Writing Relationships” at Can*Con 2026.
  • Recorded my first song for the Lowkey Hellish dark ambient project I’ve got very much under wraps. Starting to use it for my socials going forward.
  • Finished the new cover for The Cherale, and am absolutely in love with it.
  • Finally finished Part 8 of Torturer. Going to sit on that for a bit while I start to promote Geraldine Carriere’s upcoming book, Wild to Wise, out Oct 1st.
  • Been playing Breath of the Wild with my 5yo. He’s been off, and since he’s PDA autistic he’s a spicy fella unless he’s got autonomy, low demands, and a project that we can bond over. Us trying to get 120 shrines is absolutely the thing that will eat up time nicely while we wait for the start of school, which honestly can’t come soon enough.

(This page follows the Now Pages concept. I found it on Faye Gabriel’s site, who got it from Brandon Crilly, who stole it from Kate Heartfield.)
